Day 1:
From Pune reach Malgund. You can visit Ganpatipule temple, stroll the beach in the evening and stay over night at Malgund. Or in the evening, you can take a drive to Jaigad Lighthouse and Karhateshwar Temple. The drive to Jaigad is along the coast and very beautiful. These two beautifully serene places are not very crowded. The view atop Jaigad lighthouse is breathtaking, specially around sunset. They allow you to go inside and climb the actual lighthouse but only during 4 PM to 5 PM. The road just next to Jindal steel factory entrance leads here.

Jaigad Lighthouse
The Karhateshwar temple is a very old temple of God Shiva. If you are seeking some quiet time, this serene and peaceful place is perfect. The only sound you hear is of the sea roaring high along with beautiful rhythm of trees dancing in a cool breeze.

There is a small stream at the bottom, with refreshing cool waters. The entire area is full of beetle-nut trees , coconut trees and all kinds of trees. There are also small homestays and outlets at the start where one can purchase different kokan products or have kokani vegetarian meals.
